Basic Wildland Firefighter Training

 Chloeta Fire is offering a FREE Basic Wildland Firefighter (40-hr) training course open to the public. Individuals completing the course with a passing final grade will receive certificates for S-130 Basic Firefighter, S-190 Intro to Wildland Fire Behavior, L-180 Human Factors in the Wildland Fire Service and I-100 Intro to Incident Command System (ICS). An arduous duty work capacity test will also be offered. Upon successful completion of the training course and work capacity test candidates will be placed on the roster and hired as Call When Needed (CWN) Wildland Firefighters for Chloeta Fire. Candidates need to bring athletic shorts and footwear for the work capacity test as well as a backpack with 45 lbs of weight in it. Packs will be weighed prior to and upon completion of the work capacity test. Candidates should bring the following for the S-130 field day: long pants or jeans, work boots or durable shoes, work gloves and safety glasses or sunglasses. Lodging and meals are NOT provided during this training.
