WEBINAR: Ensuring Animal Welfare During Natural Disasters

December 6 2017
This year many parts of the United States were hit with natural disasters that impacted animal husbandry and welfare right along with the impacts on people in those areas. To wrap-up our 2017 season of the Animal Care Wednesday Webinar series, we wanted to hear from some of our fellow Extension professionals from those states affected to learn how the emergency response went, as well as hear what Extension programming may be continuing in 2018 as a result of these natural disasters.

Tune in to hear from:
Mr. Tommy Bass, Livestock Environment Associate Specialist at Montana State University, as he shares about the EDEN (Extension Disaster Education Network) program and the challenges of the fires that hit Montana and neighboring states in 2017.
Dr. Ron Gill, Professor & Extension Livestock Specialist at Texas A&M, as he shares about the challenges of the floods and hurricanes that hit Texas in 2017.
Dr. Carl Dahlen, Beef Cattle Specialist at North Dakota State University, as he shares about the challenges of the drought that hit North Dakota and neighboring states in 2017.
This presentation will be recorded. All recorded webinars are archived at: http://animalscience.unl.edu/animal-care-resources.
