FireWorks for the Great Plains: Teach the Teacher

 Wildland fires in recent years have brought the ecology of fire in the midwest to national and international attention. Bring the complex, interdisciplinary science of wildland fire to students and other teachers by learning how to use the FireWorks educational curriculum. This course contains one full day of hands-on classroom and laboratory learning. Content focuses on the great plains ecosystem to demonstrate diversity in fire regimes, fire behavior, adaptations to fire, fire management choices, mapping and other technological adaptations for the classroom. Please bring a laptop with capability to connect to WiFi to get the most out of the class.

Registration: $125. This covers 1 Baker University credit, 1 night stay at Acorns Resort, 3 meals, and curriculum materials.

Scholarships: Limited number of educational & travel  scholarships available. For application please email bammerlin@ksu.edu

Logistics: Wednesday evening lodging is included in your registration. If you plan to arrive on the evening of July 31 and want to lodge at the Resort email Angela (mystery_barnowl@yahoo.com). To ensure a private room contact her by July 1st.

Supper and networking at 6:30pm on July 31. The workshop will begin at 8am on Aug 1st.
